DIY Tuning Lesson (Half Day) - £180
Description
The ultimate learning experience is a tuning lesson with Jon at his fully equipped Nottingham workshop. See the 'Testimonials' section re customer feedback after having a lesson.
The cost of the lesson is £180 for one person or £330 for two people. This includes for Jon's standard tune (+ p-tex repairs if necessary) to your skis/board (worth £38+) but if you don't have your own skis/board we have plenty of shop skis that we can work on. Additional elements &/or a higher specification tune can be included at an additional cost. See the 'Ski & Board Tuning Service' section for a description of the work elements that are available. Tea or coffee will be provided & there are toilet facilities on site & car parking directly outside.
Apart from learning the obvious 'how & why', the lesson also enables new DIY tuners to handle & use all the various tools to enable an informed purchasing decision to be made. Many people therefore delay making their choice of which tuning equipment to purchase until the end of their lesson & then purchase the tools to suit their specific performance requirements, time & budget etc. All items are stocked to enable customers to take their selected tools away with them
Tuning lessons have also proved to be very popular presents for which Jon can issue a personalised gift voucher.
Payment can be made on the day by debit/credit card (not AmEx), bank transfer or in cash.
Lessons are offered throughout the year by appointment only with a choice of either a 9.30am or 1.30pm start 7 days a week. Please note that lessons are usually booked up 3-4 weeks in advance so book early!
The lesson comprises of us tuning your own skis/board together, covering all the different work elements. Any element not required on your own skis/board (ie base repairs) will be covered on shop skis. It takes 4-4.5 hours to cover everything & you'll be doing a lot of the work so come in your work clothes as the diamond cutting fluid & wax will be flying!
Unlike courses offered elsewhere were you will be part of a large group, this course offers one-to-one tuition thus ensuring a full day of 'hands on' time over a wider range of work processes.
